We close briefly each year from early January through mid-March.
Do you have parking?
Yes, we have a small on-site parking lot available for customers. There’s also public parking to the right of the store, down a small hill.

Yes, we regularly buy tools. Please contact us at libertytoolcompany{at}gmail.com for more information about selling tools. If you can send photos or provide a description, it’s especially helpful for our buyer.
What kinds of tools do you carry?
We carry a wide variety of hand tools, antique tools, vintage tools, some newer tools, and other unique items. Inventory is always changing.
Do you sell antique tools?
Yes, we have many antique and vintage tools, along with a mix of newer and used tools.
Do you sell antiques or other items besides tools?
Yes. In addition to tools, Liberty Tool features a large variety of vendor booths filled with antiques, vintage decor, glassware, artwork, books, prints, stoneware, collectibles, vintage clothing, kitchenware, and all kinds of charming and unusual finds.
Many visitors are surprised by how much there is to explore beyond tools. The second and third floors are filled with cozy booth spaces full of unique treasures, nostalgic pieces, and one-of-a-kind items you would never find in a big box store.
We work with a range of vendors who are constantly bringing in interesting new pieces, so the inventory changes all the time. Every visit feels a little different, and you never know what hidden gem you might come across.






Do you ship tools or Antiques?
No, we do not offer shipping for tools, antiques, or other store items at this time. We do, however, offer t-shirts and fan merch on our store merch page.
When did Liberty Tool Company open?
Liberty Tool Company has been serving customers since 1976. The business was founded by Skip Brack and traces back to 1970 in Jonesport, Maine, where it began as Jonesport Wood Company, which remains the operating corporation today. Read more about the business on the History page.

Yes, the store has remained under the same ownership since 1976.

Are the Davistown Museum, Tool Barn, or Captain Tinkham’s Emporium still open?
No, these related businesses are now closed. The Davistown Museum closed in 2023, the same year as the Tool Barn in Hulls Cove. Captain Tinkham’s Emporium in Searsport closed in 2020.
Over time, Skip Brack retired and began downsizing his operations, but Liberty Tool Company continues as the primary store, carrying forward his work and legacy.
